A DAY IN HASTINGS
The south coast of England hosts some beautiful, traditional seaside towns; Hastings is a true jewel among them, and not just because it gave its name to the infamous, history-changing battle fought nearby in 1066… A thoroughly British backdrop for our Spring/Summer 2023 photoshoot, Hastings gave us everything we could wish for – sunshine (and a little rain of course), bicycles, beaches, ice creams and fish and chips.
Shooting in October however, it was never going to be warm and the beautiful muse of our campaign story, Greta Bellamacina, and her husband, poet and artist, Robert Montgomery delivered classically British, cheery stoicism in their lightweight spring clothing whilst epitomising the family and generational values of Tusting.
Our Favourite Hastings Finds
We stayed at The Laindons B&B, a charming, welcoming and luxurious bed and breakfast. We were lucky enough to borrow the St Clements Church House for the day as our base – a stunning converted Church Hall, it is available to rent for holiday stays. We rented delightfully retro bikes from Bell’s Bicycles, our models posed with (then devoured) oysters from Rock-a-Nore Fisheries and the crew sheltered from the rain while enjoying fabulous chips from Smiffy’s Chippy. Before the long drive home, we ate simply sublime Thai curries in the quirky little Boulevard Bookshop and Thai Cafe. We recommend them all!
