British Bags, Benchmarks of Style
From small holdalls for an overnight stay to large pull-alongs for a bigger adventure (don’t write them off yet!) our canvas and leather Explorer collection has had a travel upgrade, making it more comfortable to use than ever before and more considered too, with discreet new styling providing a refined note of difference.
We’ve introduced a new leather backpack to our men’s range too, making life on the move all the more fun…and for those whose plans are a little more paired back, our new women’s mini-tote brings a playful element to your daily outing.
Introducing… The Superlight Explorers
Our iconic Explorer holdall has a new member to its family. We’ve developed a super-light, luxurious Nylon Twill fabric which allows us to create bags that are around 25% lighter than their canvas counterparts.
In a gorgeously rich Merlot wine colour, our new Twill has a luxurious, natural feel and a gentle lustre that is a thousand miles away from conventional nylon.
Trimmed with smooth and glossy Black Atlantic leather and toning Merlot stitching, these new Superlight Explorers have a contemporary feel and are equally perfect for both men and women to carry.
A Summer Season?
We can’t expect quite the same season of summer sensations that Britain usually revels in, but Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and (albeit a little delayed) Henley Regatta have survived the difficult planning process and challenges of social distancing or mass testing. And it’s a joyful thing indeed to get out and celebrate the best of the summer season wherever we go.
Our new colourways of Atlantic leather in Sky Blue and Soft Orange will evoke the blue skies and warm sunsets of the warmer months and bring an invigorating pop of colour to your look. And the long-time favourite, Red, looks stunning set against anything the summer classics of white, navy and black.
Explorer’s Story – The New Chapter
We first developed the Explorer holdall as a lightweight fabric travel bag with sturdy leather handles and accents. Little did we know it would become a runaway favourite with our customers! Many competitors have since tried to copy its successful formula, but only we know the secret strengths which lie within.
And now we’ve given this faithful servant a full design overhaul and uplift, built on its strengths and made it even better – with refined visuals and improved construction, its sleeker, lighter and yet even stronger.
In Focus: The Kimbolton
Our best-selling leather work bag, the Kimbolton, was first designed for our enthusiastic Japanese market, with the first cases now being almost 20 years old. But what makes this style such a keeper for our customers? We tell the back-story that takes us from fireworks to fine leathers…
Century’s Even Better
We have added four new members to the Century collection – Chestnut Elba leather variations of the Hove, Mortimer, Hingham and Harrogate. Elba leather is the modern incarnation of traditional saddle leather, with a tumbled, grainy finish that is soft and pliable. As a fully vegetable-tanned leather, Elba will burnish beautifully with use, each rub and bump delivering a rewarding polish.
Our Twyford tote in a miniature version! Seriously cute and cheery, this Mini will always raise a smile and its not so small as to be impractical either, there is still plenty of space for the day’s essentials. Complete with contrast stitching and choice of hand-carry by the handle or hands-free by the shoulder strap, there is enough room for storing your phone, cards, lipstick and keys, hand sanitizer and other essentials.
Bespoke & Personalisation
All Tusting bags are hand-crafted in our Lavendon workshop which gives us great flexibility. We can make your bag even more special by personalising it or create a bespoke colourway from our set of leathers. Whether it is a personalised message inside the bag, embossed initials or a special colour combination, don’t hesitate to contact us.
The Incredible Story of Jack Tusting…
Jack had grown up in the Tusting family business, planning to join the company proper when he came of age. A dark turn of events, namely the First World War, changed Jack’s path. Aged 17 years old, he enrolled in the Royal Flying Corps, spending much of his time in Egypt. Returning back to the UK in 1919, Jack found things much changed. During his absence, his beloved grandfather had died and Jack was shocked to learn that his wife had sold off the family business, leaving nothing behind…
Sustainable From the Beginning
Leather is one of the oldest materials made by humans and has been used for clothing, shelter, tools and so much more for centuries. Our early ancestor’s leather was hugely durable and yet entirely natural. When eventually finished with, it would biodegrade and return to the soil.
That sounds like the perfect description for a super-sustainable product…
