THE BROOKE CHARITY
Brooke is a charity with real impact that is dedicated to creating a world where working equines have a life worth living. There are 100 million horses, donkeys and mules working worldwide, earning an income that around 600 million people rely on to put food on their tables and send their children to school. From brick kilns and coal mines to villages impacted by drought and extreme poverty, working equines are the backbone of communities. They provide a vital contribution to economies, but are often suffering from exhaustion, injury, malnutrition and disease. We work with owners and communities, we work to empower women, we educate children, we train local health providers, and we work with policy makers to create both immediate and long-lasting change.’
FRANCESCA CUMANI
Francesca Cumani is a British-Italian horse racing presenter, commentator, and former amateur jockey, best known for her expert analysis and on-screen presence during major events like Royal Ascot, the Cheltenham Festival, and the Melbourne Cup Carnival for ITV Racing in the UK and Nine's Wide World of Sports in Australia.
Born in Newmarket, Suffolk, the heart of British horse racing, and where our event takes place, Cumani is the daughter of acclaimed Italian-born trainer Luca Cumani, who secured two Epsom Derby victories. She grew up in her family's racing yard, riding horses from a young age and developing a deep passion for the sport. She began riding racehorses at age 12, and raced as an amateur jockey.
Cumani transitioned to broadcasting in 2007 and joined ITV Racing in 2016. Earning acclaim as Broadcast Sports Presenter of the Year for her insightful commentary and elegant style, she collaborates with stylist Sarah Kate Byrne to blend fashion with functionality at race days. Francesca now lives in Yorkshire, with her husband Max and three children.
SARAH KATE BYRNE
Sarah Kate Byrne has established herself as a hugely in-demand stylist specialising in occasion wear, especially around key horse-racing events such as Royal Ascot as well as events that comprise "the season".
Her client base tends to be HNW individuals as well as corporate entities such as The Jockey Club who come to her for her expertise and understanding of what works for quintessential British social events.
An expert in sourcing one-of-a-kind pieces and coordinating unique looks, she teams the contemporary with the classic seamlessly. Sarah is a champion of small boutiques & emerging brands.
